It was a clean sweep for Maccabi netball on Saturday, with the U15 Eagles, U15 Crows and U18 Flame all claiming premiership glory in a memorable day of grand final action.

Div 4 U18 MANC Flame defeated Ormond Cyclones 33:19

U18 Flame came into the finals undefeated. They faced tough opposition in the semi-final and, in a nail-biting finish, scored the winning goal in the last 10 seconds of the game.

The first quarter of the Grand Final against the Ormond Cyclones was equally tight, with scores level at quarter time. The girls had an outstanding second quarter, scoring 13 goals and leading 19-12 at half time.

Flame were able to maintain their lead for the rest of the Grand Final, winning by an impressive 14 goals. The final score was 33-19. Every player gave 110%, and Isabelle Rubenstein was awarded ‘Best on Court’ by the umpires.

Div 1 U15 MANC Crows defeated Revolution 34:29

The Maccabi Crows Under 15 Division 1 team, coached by Zoe Aarons, played Revolution 15-1s in the Caulfield & District Netball Association Grand Final on Saturday. The Crows controlled the game from the start, with great delivery of the ball from the midcourt players into the attacking third. The shooters worked hard in the ring and delivered with consistent and accurate shooting. The Crows’ defensive team made life difficult for Revolution’s shooters throughout the game to keep the Crows in front.

After leading by just two goals at half time, the team pulled away in the second half to win 34-29. Summer Klinger, who played centre for the game, was awarded player of the match, with Pia Dabscheck and Rachel Naphtali leading the team in attack and defence respectively.

Div 2 U15 MANC Eagles defeated St Anthony’s Storm 14:13

The Maccabi Eagles Under 15 Division 2 claimed a thrilling 14-13 Grand Final victory over St Anthony’s on Saturday, capping off a brilliant season with a hard-fought win. The match was neck and neck from the first quarter, with the Eagles soaring home to secure the win.

In goals, Lily Golvan, Karni Lipsitz and Milla Serry were outstanding, working tirelessly to create space and convert opportunities under intense defensive pressure. Through the midcourt, Mila Faigen, Dahlia Szylit and Indie Blackstone provided endless energy linking defence and attack, driving the ball forward and creating opportunities all game.

Down the defensive end, Mackenzie Ryan, Chloe Levy and Alexis Helfenbaum formed an impenetrable wall, applying relentless pressure and making crucial intercepts when it mattered most.

It was an amazing win for a team that showed brilliant teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the season.
